Every year around the 4th of July, my college friends and I gather for what we’ve dubbed “Crabfest.”  This year, it took place at the brand new house my friend and her husband bought in South Jersey.  Not to be confused with North Jersey or the Jersey Shore, of course!   The town is small but very cute and full of character. People set up their lawn chairs on Saturday for the parade that wasn’t until Monday- and no one bothered them!  That’s dedication AND trust!

On Saturday night, we were all introduced to the Cowtown Rodeo which happens every Saturday during the summer.  It was my first, and probably last rodeo.  I thought it would be fun, until I saw the calf roping event! Not a fan!

Lauren was a sport and played “Cowgirl walking into the sunset” for me.

Here’s one before the event started. We were sitting right behind the gates where they let the horse and calf out.  I rooted for a lot of cows to win that night!

At least the sunset was pretty.
