Inspiration: The Buried Life

February 2, 2010

It’s been a long, long, LONG time since I’ve even watched an MTV program.  Then while snowed in, I watch this show on a whim, and it’s actually inspiring??   I had to double check the channel more than once.

For those of you who have never seen it, it stars four 20-something guys .  They made a list of 100 things they wanted to accomplish in their lifetime, or “before they die” and are working on accomplishing those things! From the spontaneous “scream at the top of your lungs” to the much more difficult “attend a party at the Playboy Mansion,” these guys are knocking them out!  They systematically tackle each item on their list and work on a solution thereby getting it done.  You can actually see The List on their website.

And if that isn’t enough inspiration, for each item they get to cross off their list, they ask someone on the street what they’d like to do before they die.  Then they help that person accomplish it.  But a warning: heart strings are pulled and the waterworks  maaaay just turn on as well.  Not me, of course. I don’t cry at TV shows.  Ok, shhhh. Watch it. You’ll see!

It’s only a few episodes in but I’ve been hooked.  It’s really amazing to see what these guys accomplish both for themselves and others.  It may be time for me to make a similar list.   What are some things that would be on yours?
